Democrat Controlled Counties in Texas Utilize a Nonprofit with Ties to Democrat Donors Sending Out Mass Voter Registration Applications
In Harris, Tarrant, and Bexar Counties, it has been discovered that the “non partisan” Voter Participation Center org which is heavily funded by Democrats and Dark Money is once again sending out voter registrations to constituents.
Just today, Congresswomen Claudia Tenney demanded that the IRS Investigate the Voter Participation Center. Read the full text of the letter here.
VPC was founded under the name “Women’s Voices Women Vote,” a 501 focused on registering single women to vote. Founder Page Gardner, a Democrat operative resigned after the 2020 Presidential election from the org. John Podesta, a Clinton & Obama operative was also said to have “helped launch the Women’s Voices Women Vote prior ‘04 election and later served on the board. The organization Women’s Voices Women Vote officially “renamed itself the Voter Participation Center to reflect a portfolio formally broadened after 2008 to cover the so-called “Rising American Electorate”
Since 2020, Tom Lopach has been the CEO of the Voter Participation Center (VPC) and its sister organization, the Center for Voter Information (CVI). Both organizations are dedicated to increasing voter registration and turnout among what they term the "New American Majority" — young people, people of color, and unmarried women. Under his leadership, these groups have been involved in significant voter registration drives, particularly focusing on mail-in voting and voter education.
Lopach has a deep history in Democratic politics, having served in various capacities that include Chief of Staff to Montana Governor Steve Bullock, Executive Director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), and Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Jon Tester. His career also includes stints in national finance roles for Democratic campaigns and working in the office of Senator Edward M. Kennedy.
VPC’s donations have been ramping up from the previous year, in 2021 the organization brought in ten million whereas in 2022 the organization received over $37 million in revenue.
The Voter Participation Center website stresses that they “want representation that looks like us” as you can see the data below from the site. Most of the rhetoric coming from the organization seems to be targeted towards a certain audience of Democrat voters, specifically targeting identity politics and using language regarding state lawmakers bills to secure elections as, “making it harder for people to vote”
Lopach's approach through VPC and CVI has sometimes stirred controversy, with critics arguing that these efforts, despite claims of non-partisanship, disproportionately benefit Democratic candidates due to the demographic focus. This includes sending out millions of voter registration forms and ballot applications, which has led to legal and ethical debates over the methods used, including allegations of sending materials to ineligible voters or deceased individuals.
Despite its claim of non-partisanship, VPC has been criticized for potentially favoring Democratic candidates due to the demographics it targets. Critics argue that by focusing on groups that traditionally lean Democratic, VPC's efforts could influence electoral outcomes.
There have been instances where VPC's methods, like sending registration materials to potentially ineligible voters or deceased individuals, have been legally challenged or criticized for potential voter fraud or misinformation.
The organization's funding and operational transparency have been questioned, with some state officials and commentators suggesting that VPC operates with a lack of clarity regarding its financial backers and operational specifics.VPC has defended its methods, arguing that any errors in voter registration efforts are minor and do not undermine the integrity of elections, emphasizing the importance of increasing voter turnout.
From my viewpoint, I am seeing an almost identical replication of what occurred in left-leaning Texas counties as we saw in 2020. The VPC which was started by a Clinton advisor is now sending out mass registrations to county constituents and Civic Government Solution which is tied to heavy Democrat Donor REID HOFFMAN is now taking over for ERIC in said counties.
