Elon Musk Announces PAC to Contribute to $45 Million to Trump Monthly.
Elon Musk has announced his commitment to a new pro-Trump super PAC, pledging to contribute $45 million monthly. This initiative, named America PAC, is backed by Musk and his inner circle. The move has sparked varied reactions, with some praising Musk's support for Trump's re-election campaign, while others criticize it as a form of plutocracy and legalized corruption. Backers of the group, called America PAC, include PALANTIR Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, former U.S. ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and her husband, Joe Craft, who is CEO of coal producer Alliance Resource Partners.
This announcement comes on the heels of JD Vance becoming VP for Donald Trump. Notably, Vance’s senate campaign was bolstered by Palantir’s CEO Peter Thiel by Fifteen Million dollars.
The America PAC was formed this June and is focused on registering voters & convincing constituents to vote early and request mail-in ballots in swing states, according to a source.
Among outside organizations backing Trump, America PAC is the biggest spender on direct voter contacts. It has spent $15.8 million so far, with $13.1 million of that going for field operations, federal records show. It has also paid for digital media, texting and phone calls to reach voters.
It appears that this PAC is planning on challenging the Democrats “get out the vote” campaigns and took note of the amounts of money that the Biden administration has dedicated to so-called “on the ground” efforts in swing states.
The America PAC plans to counter that.
