According to the report, Duong who is a former owner of the now-closed Music Cafe, faces accusations of using the cafe as a front for sèx trafficking and drug operations. This venue, which also operated as a karaoke lounge, was connected by state authorities to drug dealing, pimping, and human trafficking prior to its closure. Duong allegedly recruited dozens of people to write checks to the campaigns of candidates running for public positions in Oakland. The Music Cafe was one of the biggest sources of the money given to Oakland politicians through this allegedly illegal scheme orchestrated by Andy Duong.
