Harris County Democrats are Subverting the Rights of Their Constituents

Harris county Democrat leaders are intentionally subverting the rights of their constituents solely for their lust for power and control. Over the past two years, the Democrats in Commissioners Court have been slowly chipping away the rights of their constituents. As of today, the county democrats have taken our choice of who runs our elections from us, they have redistricted the county solely for a power grab. To add insult to injury, the redistricting resulted in disenfranchising more than 1.1 million people of their right to vote in Harris County elections, as well as installing an unelected County Administrator.

In 2020, Democrats in Harris County moved to take responsibility away from two elected positions and place duties under the control of an appointed election administrator, Isabel Longoria. At the time of the appointment, Commissioner Rodney Ellis made the deceptive claim that the new arrangement would focus resources on addressing issues he said, “disproportionately impact Black and Brown communities” yet, this position removed election administration duties from the two black women elected to be voter registrar and county clerk, Ann Harris Bennet and Taneshia Hudspeth.

Even more alarming, Harris County’s Commissioner’s court defied the Attorney Generals’ orders to rescind the position of Election Administrator, after it was discovered the county had failed to follow the legal procedures in forming the Election Administrator position. Ms. Longoria’s appointment was voted through by DNC member Chris Hollins, Democrat County Judge Lina Hidalgo, and Harris County Democratic Party Chair Lillie Schecter. It truly is remarkable the lengths the Democrats in our county will go just to maintain control. Not once do I believe that the 3 democrats who voted for Isabel Longoria, took into consideration her actual qualifications and competency in running the 4th largest counties elections. I would even go as far as accusing them of knowing exactly what they were doing, most likely, for nefarious reasons. I have no doubt in my mind that the truth surrounding the democrats failed strategy regarding Ms. Longoria’s appointment will eventually come to light. The county’s constituents are certainly realizing Longoria’s complete and utter incompetence running out elections. Alongside the fact that she blew through nearly 35 million of our hard-earned tax paying dollars .
