Harris County District Attorney Holds Press Conference Over Ex Health Director Robinson Felony Charges

Barbie Robinson, the former executive director of Harris County Public Health, has been charged with a felony count of misuse of official information. According to reports, she is accused of sharing private information with IBM officials regarding a potential county contract, specifically related to the Accessing Coordinated Care and Empowering Self Sufficiency (ACCESS) Harris County program, which IBM later won. This contract was valued at approximately $16 million, with extensions leading to a total of nearly $30 million.
Robinson was previously fired from her position in August 2024 amid separate investigations into her department's contracts and her involvement in private consultancy while on county payroll.
