The latest disturbing revelations coming from Harris County’s Elections Department are sure to make your jaw drop. As many of you know, the 2020 Presidential Election came at a hefty price tag of $42 million dollars for Harris County. Many of the answers received for the steep price tag were explained away by the pandemic, and the need of the drive-thru voting. A few weeks ago, I submitted a FOIA request to look further into the vendors which were used in the 2020 election, when I received a startling surprise that the county’s election department only spent $20.8 million for the 2020 Election. So, where did the additional $22 million go?
In 2020 the County Clerk received:
$12 million from Diane Trottman for mail in ballots.
$17.17 million from interim County Clerk Chris Hollins
$9.6 million from CTCL
$3.3 million from PIC funds to cover election costs (11.20)
I’ve informed the elections department of the accounting being off by $22 million over a week ago and still have yet to receive a response.
Thank you Merissa. We have to keep pushing back. There is no other way
