The final poll released before the election suggested that Kamala Harris was leading Donald Trump by three points in Iowa, with Harris at 47% and Trump at 44% among likely voters. The poll was unexpected, given that Iowa had not been considered a swing state and Trump had comfortably won the state in both the 2016 and 2020 elections. Selzer had a reputation for accurate polling in Iowa, having correctly predicted outcomes in previous election cycles from 2008 to 2020.
