On September 16, 2025, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, unveiled explosive whistleblower-provided records during an FBI oversight hearing, shedding light on the FBI’s secretive “Arctic Frost” investigation. Launched in April 2022 under former FBI Director Christopher Wray during the Biden administration, the probe initially targeted President Donald Trump’s efforts to challenge the 2020 election results. However, Grassley revealed that “Arctic Frost” expanded into a sprawling operation targeting a wide array of Republican-affiliated organizations and individuals, raising concerns about the politicization of federal law enforcement. Described as the foundation for Special Counsel Jack Smith’s election interference case against Trump (now President Trump), the investigation’s scope and methods have sparked intense debate about government overreach and partisan bias.
