If one didn’t believe the impeachment of Ken Paxton was a political hit job by the Deep State, you shouldn’t have to second guess it after Karl Rove penned a little op-Ed in the Wall Street Journal praising the committee who led the investigation.
It’s almost like Rove picked the collection of “do-gooders” on his own… I guess this is what happens when someone beats a Bush.
What we know thus far:
Johnson’s squad boasts five criminal attorneys. Three of the five were fired by their own District Attorneys offices. Three of the five voted Democrat in recent elections.
Erin Epley, the lead counsel, formally left the Republican Party and has voted as a Democrat since 2020. The majority of her political donations have gone to Democrats, with one donation of $50 to a Republican District Court candidate in 2018. She even posted an image of the late, left-wing Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s infamous collar on her Facebook profile in 2022.
Donna Cameron, another investigator, was removed from her position by Harris County District Attorney Pat Lykos. Voting records indication she cast a ballot in the Democrat primary in 2020.
Terese Buess, another investigator who was removed from her position by Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg, has also voted as a Democrat.
Mark Donnelly was also fired by Harris County District Attorney Pat Lykos in 2009, branded “negligent” and “incompetent” on his way out. Donnelly voted in the 2012 Republican primary, as well as in 2022. “While a federal prosecutor, Donnelly worked with U.S. Department of Justice leaders and routinely handled cases jointly with DOJ prosecutors in Washington, D.C.,” says Law360
Geren and Phelan were behind giving the Democrats MORE power in the Texas legislature, nixing a bill to remove Democrat committee chairs.
Phelan also killed border security bills. I’m sure it had nothing to do with him sitting on the board of the Catholic Charities and receiving large donations from Real Estate developers (since they don’t need cheap labor)
It's not the Democrats we have to worry about. We know who and what they are. It's the snake-in-the-grass Republicans.
A lot of people think Kari Lake just plain lost her election in AZ. Her court case showed failure to maintain chain of custody of ballots and failure to properly check signatures. The fact that signature check turned into a debate is itself a breakdown of voter integrity. Where else in American life do we accept signatures in place of a photo ID? That whole fiasco was permitted by Doucey, a Republican governor, and Brnovich, a Republican AG, as well as some Republican legislators, who failed to act on the 2020 election irregularities.
Likewise in Wisconsin, the Republican House Speaker, Robin Vos, stonewalled investigation of 2020 voting irregularities and legislation that offered some remedies.
The people named in the Rove piece (Phelan, Geren, Spiller- my rep) are playing their own small part in turning TX from red to blue.
Of course, Rove can’t lose his most important clients! He needs to get the Bush money dynasty to keep the Texas Uniparty going. Next AG Preston Bush! Disgraceful!
