In the ongoing quest to provide transparency with our marred midterm election, County Attorney Christian Menefee has filed a lawsuit (USING TAXPAYER MONEY) against the State AG over their rulings pertaining to FOIA requests county constituents have submitted. Apparently Menefee believes that county constituents should not be provided with transparency when it comes to how Harris County conducts their elections. Menefee filed the suit back in December of last year, in what one could surmise as an excuse to prevent constituents from receiving information regarding how the county conducted the 2022 midterm election.

The initial lawsuit was filed back in December, and it looks like as more people file PIA requests for similar info and get favorable AG rulings, Menefee and company are amending the pleadings to include those requests/rulings… Why would the County Attorney do that?

A constituent has submitted a rebuttal to the County Attorney regarding Menefee’s actions with the CVR FOIA request.

WHY IS THE COUNTY SUING THE AG OVER PROVIDING TRANSPARENCY FOR OUR ELECTIONS?

THIS IS NOT NORMAL
