In today’s Commissioners Court meeting to address the most corrupt counties midterm election, Tatum once again proved himself to be the grossly underqualified and incompetent EA that Rodney Ellis and the local Democrats intended.
Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey addressed the concerns that several media outlets have reported regarding the disaster of the midterm elections.
Over 121 voting locations with no paper ballots
What was the criteria to determine the number of ballots distributed to each polling location based on data from history of prior elections.
How many voters turned away due to polling centers not being open in time
Is it legal for Harris Votes to already have published the results of the election prior to the polls closing.
When can we expect a full report on the issues regarding the election.
The County attorney's office noted that there's pending litigation and a criminal investigation so the election administrator is limited on what Tatum can answer. The county attorney, Johnathan Fombonne had suggested an executive session. In which Commissioner Ramsey stated he would not participate in executive session, and that it is important for the constituents to know what is going on with the county’s elections.
Tatum claimed that the media has misconstrued his comments and that reports are "inaccurate.” that his department is deploying processes and systems to address problems. Alongside working with Universal Services to track service calls during elections.
After Tatum was finished answering questions, he was rushed by reporters in the hallway.
Tom Slocum from the Harris County Republican party caught Tatum in the elevator and gave him a good and well-deserved earful informing Tatum “Cliff, I’m a Texan, voter and taxpayer, You’re the bureaucrat in charge of elections.”
