The latest virus grift has come to Harris County. Conversations began yesterday in Commissioners Court over the much anticipated monkeypox virus which has been declared a Public Health Emergency in New York City and San Francisco. Barbie Robinson, the Harris Health head has requested $1.7 million for the new Monkeypox task force strategy.
The $1.7 million is supposed to cover a new staff of 39 people over a 3 month period, which breaks down to:
$1,131,085/3= $373,695 a month
$373,695/39 people= $9,581.92 per staff member a month.
$2,395.48 per one staff member a week
Does this seem like a lot of money for an employee to make per week regarding:
Hotline operators, administering vaccines, epidemiology support, and ‘support staff’
The PPE comes out to be $500k which seems to be a bit steep with all the supplies that the County should have with the purchases they made over the period of covid.
