Laura and John Arnold have not only taken a liking to bail reform and policy change, in 2018, the Arnolds announced they would be donating to Facebook to “support gathering data on how social media impacts our elections and researching the harm of misinformation.”
The Laura and John Arnold Foundation (LJAF) has announced that it will contribute to the funding of a new research initiative designed to examine the impact that Facebook has on elections and democracy. With the announcement, LJAF joins a consortium of prominent philanthropic foundations who have pledged to partner with the social media giant by financially supporting the research effort.
Facebook has agreed to grant a team of independent researchers unprecedented access to privacy-protected data, allowing them to conduct a number of comprehensive studies on the impact that the company has on elections held within the United States and beyond.
The Arnolds even decided to spread their wealth in other states, like Missouri to help change the way elections are conducted. The aim: Get an initiative on the 2022 ballot that would abolish partisan primary elections and allow voters to rank their top four choices, regardless of party. Kind of like what is now happening in New York.
JEFFERSON CITY — A multimillion-dollar effort underway to convince Missouri voters to change how the state conducts elections is being bankrolled primar
ily by a wealthy Texas couple.
On March 9, a Virginia-based group connected with John and Laura Arnold contributed $800,000 to the political action committee raising money to place a constitutional amendment on the ballot that would bring ranked choice voting to Missouri.
That brings the Arnold-connected financial input to over $3 million at a time when Republicans are trying to make it harder to use the initiative petition process to change the state Constitution.
What’s even more interesting, Article IV and the Arnolds have ties to Obama and Clinton.
Another Article IV director is Seth London, who also is a consultant to Arnold Ventures. He was an aide to former President Barack Obama.
Tripp Wellde also is listed as a director. He served as a campaign aide for Obama, as well as an aide to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign
I began gathering more information from a few of the LARGE grants the Arnold have made towards elections over the past year from the Arnold Ventures Grant Site. What jumped out to me was the Arnolds’ donation to a known Soros affiliated offshoot, “North Fund” in the amount of $1 million.
They also donated $100k to William H Marsh Rice University, where they funded the Texas Policy Lab
There was another donation of $2.7 million to Alaska; the Arnolds are Murkowski donors as well.
Are the Arnold’s possibly working in tandem with the Clintons, Obama, and Soros to help transform our country’s electoral process to their “vision” of how elections should be conducted? This appears to me to be like an extreme assault on our elections by left-leaning billionaires. At what point does our government stop these billionaire idealogues from infringing on our elections? We saw what they did in 2020, and we sure as hell are hurting from the Biden “Presidency”.
