I’m discussing the border issues and how the house fucked us terribly. The people who installed these politicians are them. I suppose you’re not privy to what they say behind closed doors, you know, like how some of the billionaires “own Phelan”. It’s uniparty behavior. Paxton is the most conservative AG and is effective. They tried to take him out

TLR PAC flipped the Texas House from Democrat to Republican in 2002. They raised much of the $63,000,000 that the Republicans spent to protect the House from turning Democrat in 2020, a redistricting year, against the $97 million spent mostly by out-of-state Democrats to flip Texas from red to blue. TLR is led by volunteers who only want what is good for the citizens of Texas. Be CREDIBLE, Merissa...know what you're talking about!

What a ridiculous conclusion to be drawn here... Character assassination with no valid point.

Merissa, have you no quality control or do you simply tout any two bit idiot you run across?

Do you have ANY idea who Texans for Lawsuit Reform is?... Well it's not "Weekley". Dick Weekley is a stand up guy who's poured himself into building an organization dedicated to fighting the trial lawyer cabal that plays a part in rising insurance of every type. Maybe the goof sponsoring this hate mail is confusing Dick with brother David...who gives 50% of all homebuilding profits to faith based charities.

How about we review Republican leaderships' donors and draw random conclusions as to why they received $$? You know as well as I that ALL politics is corrupt - crooked as a dog's hind leg - from the HOA to the United Nations and beyond. I support the solid work you do, but you have an obligation to supporters to be CREDIBLE!

Gary Dunkum,

At the end of the regular session, the House had failed to act on key legislation important to Texans, including border security, school choice, teacher pay raises, and ending Covid restrictions and vaccine mandates.

Republicans outnumber Democrats in the Texas House 86-64. Phelan has an understanding with Democrats- if they vote for him for Speaker, he’ll give deference to Democrat legislative priorities. In return, Democrats vote for Phelan as a block.

With 64 Democrat votes, Phelan needs to add only 12 RINO Republican votes to gain a 76-vote majority. He assures this by spreading a lot of money around to Republican House members. He donated an average of $132,000 to each of 24 Republican House members. One contribution was almost a half-million dollars.

Where does Phelan get all that money? From deep-pocket donors, like TLR.

TLR's money enables Phelan to block conservative legislation, against the will of Texas voters.

What a bunch of bullshit.

TLR and other big money donors paid for Drunk Dade Phelan's Speakership.

The relationship between Speaker Phelan on one side and Governor Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick as Senate President on the other has remained vitriolic during almost all of 2023. As the House failed to pass conservative legislation important to Governor Abbott, one special session followed another, finally concluding with a 4th legislative session. Dan Patrick was critical of Phelan, saying, “This guy’s just flat out impossible to work with.”

Phelan couldn't have wreaked all this damage without help from TLR.

If these people are all so great, why did Abbott have to call the House back for special sessions four times? Phelan's on your list. Why was he fighting against conservative legislation every inch of the way?

And what does TLR get for their money?

Once again, I simply ask you to educate yourself.

Are you truly that ignorant Gary? You provide a link to TLR PAC propaganda. You think they're going to say they provide hundreds of $thousands to characters like Drunk Dade to advance their own narrow interests, and fuck everybody else? Don't be a fool. They're going to make it sound like they ONLY give money to good, solid, decent elected officials to carry out the will of the people.

I am actively working to help primary one of Phelan's step'n-fetch-its. I HAVE looked at what they've done. It's EXACTLY as I wrote above: give tons of $ to Phelan so he can buy off a handful of RINO Republicans, combine their votes with a Democrat minority and put aside the conservtive kinds of measures the people voted for when they voted Republican.

You and I have exchanged posts before. I knew you were ignorant. I didn't know before now how ignorant you really are.
