Yesterday, Harris County’ Deputies Association Director, Eric Batton came before Commissioners Court to inform the County that the 2% pay raise they allocated for the department is simply not enough to go against the 10.7% inflation rate. Shockingly, Mr. Batton was informed by Commissioner Rodney Ellis that “if the police wanted a raise, they would have to help him raise taxes on the citizens of Harris County”
