I called every senator and I appreciate you sending this email.

I called and wrote to my Senator Birdwell, asking that he vote no on impeachment. I've never phone-called a political representative before- I usually write.

The person taking my call was friendly and courteous. I'm glad I called, and recommend others do so.

Can't do it, Marissa. I believe Paxton to be unfit for the office. SURELY we have a clean, fully qualified candidate for the job. He's a walking smoke bomb with fire somewhere underneath. What a distraction and poster child for government corruption....

Gary, you have to do what's right for you. I won't try to change your mind.

I watched several hours of the hearings. It was a clown show. Paxton did some things that are embarrassing to him, which I condemn. But he didn't break any laws or do anything else to warrant impeachment.

Paxton was elected overwhelmingly. AG Paxton has fought harder than any other state AG to oppose the totalitarian aims of the federal government. I fear for our freedoms if the Democrats have their way, and get a little closer to turning TX from a red state to a blue one.

The one good thing that came out of it is it highlighted how TX voters choose Republicans to represent them in the House, but Democrats are running things. I'll reserve comment for another day on the ability of the Democrat committee chairmen to bottle up so much conservative legislation.

The last thing I'll say- We'd all like our elected officials to be good, wholesome, clean-living people as decent as we see ourselves. Behind the scenes, few of them actually are. They are human with all the human foibles. Me, I accept we are all sinners, I'm going to criticize the bad but I'm also going to be realistic and support the person who actually does the hard work to support the things that are important to me, and not be taken in by those who talk a good game in front of the televised congressional hearing while yucking it up off-camera with their colleagues in the party opposite about the good show they put on for the rubes.

There’s GOT to be a cleaner alternative, Merissa, and to believe he broke no laws during his reign is beyond implausible.

The best lawyers in the state, Rusty Hardin and Dick Deguerin, tried to prove Paxton broke the law. I personally have a lot of admiration for DeGuerin b/c of his representation of David Koresh. Not so much for Hardin.

Under cross-examination, their witnesses had to admit, THEY WENT TO THE FBI WITH NO EVIDENCE PAXTON COMMITTED ANY CRIMES. But they dirtied him up with testimony about his extramarital affair. That's lurid, but not a crime. And his efforts on behalf of a campaign contributor, Nate Paul. I'm sure nobody in the TX House or Senate EVER did any favors for campaign contributors. Ya think, Mr. Dunkum?

I don't like some of the things Paxton did. But he has sued the federal government AND WON over things like border issues. I'll take him any day over a mealy-mouth Uniparty Republican like John Wayne Cornyn. I don't care how saintly Cornyn is.

Sad that your take-away from the impeachment hearings is, you don't know what laws Paxton broke, but you're sure he must have broken some. You're playing right into their hands.

Agree to disagree, Ms. Hansen…let’s just see what comes out of this…I’m willing to accept the result…and you?
